I'm so excited to introduce my first series to you. I'm planning on posting my thrifty finds relatively regularly. I find most of my steals at local thrift stores, but occasionally I'll find things at garage sales as well. I hope to show you all what a little patience, dedication and rummaging can get you. Click that little "read more" button down there to see what thrifty thrills I've scored lately.
Time for some honesty. I need to take a picture to use for this "Thrifty Thrills" series, but since I don't have one yet you get to see the same picture twice. Let's just pretend this picture is brand new to you and you didn't just see it right up there.
Ooooh look at this cool picture that we've never seen before! So if you follow me on Facebook, you've already seen a picture of a lamp suspiciously similar to that one. That's because I decided to go back to Goodwill the next day to snatch it up. Since my mom was with me and she now gets a discount I got it for 14 bucks! |
He's a little naked right now, but I know I'll find the perfect shade (lamp clothes) for him. What kind of lamp clothes would you get for him? I'm thinking maybe something with a really fun and colorful pattern. I've seen some really spiffy looking glass lamps with a burlap type shade, too. Those charger plates are from Pottery Barn and they were the right color tag which means they were half off! I was so excited.
And can we talk about how cool that lion print is? Maybe I'm just biased because I'm a Leo, myself. Any other fellow Leos out there? I'm planning on using those mirrors and Mr. Leo in some kind of gallery wall. Up close the lion is made of a bunch of little lines. It reminds me of a modern day Impressionism type dealio.
The penguin book hidden behind Mr. Leo is full of amazing photos taken by Art Wolfe. I can't wait to show you what I'm going to do with those. That will happen a bit later. For now I'll leave you with a little hint at what's coming up next.
